If you're a frequent flyer living in Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra or Brisbane you're in luck.

Sydney's domestic and international terminals, Melbourne's Avalon airport, Canberra airport and now also Brisbane airport have reached agreements with Uber Pty Ltd, allowing passengers to legally access Uber services when departing the airport. Sydney, Canberra, Avalon and Brisbane airports have introduced exclusive "Uber zones" to their passenger pick-up areas, located a few hundred metres away from the airport's cab ranks.

Some passengers will incur a small surcharge when departing the airport, with fees varying from state to state. Uber's website states Sydney riders will be charged a $4 fee departing the domestic terminal and $5.15 departing the international terminal, while Canberra passengers will be charged $2.73.

Although passengers leaving Avalon airport have access to Uber services, passengers departing Tullamarine airport are currently blocked from ordering Uber X. According to the website these passengers do have access to the more expensive UberBLACK service.
