How to get cashback for online shopping
By Emi Berry
Are you a regular online shopper? If so, you should definitely take advantage of cashback sites such as Cashrewards, PricePal and Qwibble to get more bang for your buck.
How do they work?
By making a purchase via these cashback websites, a portion of the commission made by the website (in this example Cashrewards) from the merchant (let's say David Jones) is returned to the consumer (that's you).
So, for example, at the time of writing, Cashrewards was offering a bonus 6% cashback on purchases made at David Jones.
You may also find special offers on top of the cashback, such as 4.8% cashback via Cashrewards if you shop at Missguided, plus you'll receive an additional 10% off your purchase. Offers change regularly and can differ between websites, so do a quick check to see which is offering the best cashback rate and/or specials.
Once you go ahead with the transaction and the retailer confirms the sale, the cashback will be paid into your bank account.
Qwibble payments are made by the 10th of each month (with a minimum payment value of $10). PricePal pays out to you at the end of every month and Cashrewards allows you to transfer amounts over $5.01 that are showing as "available" in your Cashrewards account.
The 2015 Cashback Industry Report recognised Cashrewards as the leader in Australia, offering consumers over 700 retailers across numerous categories.
Andrew Clarke, the founder of Cashrewards, says the report identified it as an industry leader in Australia.
"We are pioneering the cashback rewards phenomenon here, with a unique offer of big daily discounts on top of generous cashback of up to 20%, which gets deposited directly back into customers' bank accounts. More and more, Australians are catching onto the benefits of online cashback - if you like an online deal, then you'll love cashback even more."
Some of the Australian and international retailers featured on the Cashrewards website include Woolworths, Coles, eBay, Chemist Warehouse, Priceline, The ICONIC, ASOS, David Jones, Saks Fifth Avenue, Virgin Australia, Telstra, Vodafone, Booking.com, Avis, Microsoft, Sony, Groupon, Dan Murphy's, Uber and Menulog.
