Are you eligible for child care benefits and rebates?

Child care is one of the great expenses faced by parents but Centrelink can help you bear the burden.

If you haven't done so already, I would encourage you to test your eligibility for the child care benefit and child care rebate.

The quarterly rebate will be paid to around 330,000 families in the coming weeks to help with out-of-pocket costs.

The payment covers the period from July to September 2014 and can reimburse parents for up to 50% of their out-of-pocket expenses for approved child care, up to $7500 per child per year.

If you've chosen to receive your rebate quarterly, it will be paid automatically.

You can check whether it has been issued through your myGov online account or via the Express Plus families mobile app.

You can receive the rebate even if you aren't able to receive the childcare benefit due to your income, so I encourage you to test your eligibility for this as well.
