About the fund

Statewide Super is a comprehensive full-service public offer industry fund based in South Australia and Darwin but open for business across the country.

With $7 billion under management, it's one of the biggest financial institutions in South Australia and the Northern Territory, servicing 150,000 members and 18,000 private and public sector employers.

What it offers

Statewide Super offers a stable of 10 investment choices, including a MySuper option, five other diversified and four asset-sector, multi-manager strategy options, including one specialised in sustainability investments.

Statewide Super has always been known as an innovator, which is why it was one of the first super funds to sign up the United Nations Principles for Responsible Investment and disclose its major shareholdings; it is one of the few funds in Australia to regularly post detailed governance reports on its website.

Like all full service funds, Statewide Super has superannuation and retirement products, life, TPD and income protection insurance and also provides financial advice. Members also have access to discounted health insurance. Statewide MySuper members pay fees of just 0.9%.

Statewide MySuper

Investment performance

A member who invested $10,000 in Statewide Super in 2011 would have accumulated $15,687 by June, which is $1100 more than if they had invested in an average fund that matched the SelectingSuper MySuper default index. This makes Statewide Super one of the best performing MySuper products in Australia after achieving an impressive 9.4%pa over this period, being 1.5% points above the index average. Even better, this outperformance has continued through 2016-17, pointing to strong returns again this financial year.

Rainmaker SelectingSuper's conclusion

Statewide Super easily earns its AAA SelectingSuper rating and in 2016 was awarded the SelectingSuper Select Choice Product of the Year in the workplace division.
